A major part of the practices of all of Carter Perry Bailey's lawyers is in the reinsurance market. Recently, Carter Perry Bailey successfully represented AGF Insurance in its successful appeal to the House of Lords in one of the most important cases to the reinsurance market in many years – Lexington v AGF Insurance.

They have acted in FSMA transfers of business and schemes or arrangement, both for scheme participants and for third parties either making submissions at approval hearings or submitting scheme claims. Stephen Carter and William Sturge are recognised by Chambers Directory as leaders in the field of reinsurance. Stephen has provided expert witness evidence in overseas litigation on English reinsurance law. He has also worked in-house at a leading run-off management company and is a director of a reinsurance company in run-off.
