Regulatory Advice

Carter Perry Bailey's lawyers have advised London and overseas insurers as well as brokers and individuals on regulatory issues involved in carrying on insurance business and in run-off. Consultant Anthony Rose has great experience of advising on corporate and regulatory issues in the insurance sector, including as Head of the Corporate Department at solicitors, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. Anthony has particular expertise in the fields of FSA Regulation, broker transactions and has dealt with the referral of a Names agency transaction to the Competition Commission. He also acts as in-house lawyer on non-contentious matters to Carter Perry Bailey client, Hampden Group.

As with other areas of Carter Perry Bailey's practice, its work has included an international element. Bernadette Bailey has advised both UK and overseas insurers in relation to compliance in marketing of their products, Stephen Carter has acted in relation to Australian regulatory proceedings arising in part from business written through a London market pool and Bill Perry has been appointed as an arbitrator by the Insurance Corporation of Kosovo, to sit in a Kosovan regulatory dispute. Unusually, Stephen Carter has also advised an overseas government on the drafting of its insurance legislation and on regulatory issues within its jurisdiction.
