Coverage Issues

Carter Perry Bailey has been created as a firm expert and experienced in the business of insurance and reinsurance. Central to that business are issues of coverage. These issues permeate all classes of business. Our lawyers have advised on coverage under a broad range of insurance and reinsurance contracts including property, casualty, professional indemnity, D&O, BBB, fine art & specie, construction, marine, general aviation, contingency and life & health. The firm’s work has included representing the successful appellant AGF Insurance in the House of Lords in the seminal reinsurance coverage case, AGF & WASA v Lexington (2009). Our international experience includes litigation and arbitration of high value coverage disputes, for example in simultaneous proceedings in different jurisdictions following the $1 billion collapse of an overseas bank, or representing a US coverholder in arbitration with its London Market principals, but we are equally at home handling, for example, local property or business interruption claims.
