Corporate & Competition Law

There is more to insurance and reinsurance transactional work than pure corporate law. Carter Perry Bailey marries in-depth knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance markets to transactional expertise.

We are delighted to have as consultants to Carter Perry Bailey, Anthony Rose (former Head of Corporate Departments at Charles Russell and then at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert), and Hugh Bohling (formerly a partner at Waltons & Morse and Eversheds). Both have a wealth of experience in company law matters, with a specialist focus on the insurance and reinsurance markets, and have served as Directors of Lloyd's brokers.

Carter Perry Bailey's transactional capabilities include the buying and selling of insurance brokers, advice on warranties appropriate to transactions, the buying and selling of managing agents and members agents at Lloyd's, the structuring of companies and joint ventures, restructurings, reorganisations, the establishment of new brokers, consultants and underwriting entities and due diligence.

Anthony Rose's competition law work has included successfully representing the acquiring company in a reference to the Competition Commission (formerly the Monopolies Commission) of a Lloyd's Names agency takeover.
