
Anthony has been involved in corporate and regulatory work for over 30 years, largely focussed on the insurance and reinsurance markets. He was Head of Corporate at both Charles Russell and subsequently Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. He has particular experience in FSA Regulation, acquisitions, disposals and floatation of insurance brokers and corporate matters involving underwriting agents and Lloyd's Names agencies. Anthony was a member of the Lloyd's Group of City Solicitors involved in the introduction of corporate capital to Lloyd's and was an author of the legal appendix to the FT Management Report on Cross Border Mergers in the Insurance and Reinsurance Industry. He is also experienced in competition law matters, has acted in the reference of a Lloyd's Names agency transaction to the Competition Commission and has spoken frequently before the European Commission. He has given numerous seminars, including on topics such as Corporate Capital at Lloyd's, Broker Credit Write Backs, Insurance Brokers and the Law of Agency and the Buying and Selling of Insurance Brokers. Anthony is a director of Hampden Legal Plc. He is also honorary legal adviser to the National Army Museum and a Freeman of the City of London.
